New Ulm Police

• Took a call at 3:48 a.m. Sunday about a pitbull running at large at Oakwood Estates. It appeared the dog chewed through a door and escaped. The dog was captured by a friend of the owner and returned to the owner, a 23-year-old New Ulm man. He was cited for dog at large.

• Took a call at 4:21 a.m. Sunday about two kittens that fell into an egress window on the 900 block of Spring St. N. An officer went into the well and removed the kittens but was bitten. No medical attention was sought. A report went to New Ulm City Hall.

• Took a call from a landlord at 11:49 a.m. Saturday about the theft of an iron rod bench with a white top from rental property on the 600 block, South Broadway. Officers met with a former renter, a 46-year-old woman who denied taking the bench. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a call of a man flagging down vehicles at 3:48 a.m. Sunday at the CR 21/Highway 15 roundabout. Officers located the suspect, a 22-year-old Minneapolis man who was uncooperative. Impairment signs were detected. The man left on foot, was caught and taken to detox. A report was done for documentation.

• Assisted Sleepy Eye Police at 11:11 a.m. Sunday with interviewing two New Ulm residents involved in a domestic incident in Sleepy Eye earlier in the day. A 16-year-old girl who witnessed an assault said a 61-year-old New Ulm man punched a 32-year-old New Ulm woman in the face. A report went to Sleepy Eye Police and Brown County Human Services.

• Responded to a domestic call Sunday. A 41-year-old New Ulm woman said she was assaulted by her boyfriend, a 34-year-old New Ulm man. She said the man shoved her and elbowed her in the stomach. The man denied any physical abuse towards the woman but he had a scratch on his shoulder and wrist. Reports went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for domestic assault charges for both individuals.

• Received a domestic call at 3:35 p.m. Sunday on Sunrise Drive. There were minor injuries to a 34-year-old New Ulm man and 41-year-old New Ulm woman. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for charge consideration.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to animal complaints at Lake Hanska County Campground at 7:24 p.m. Friday. A big black, stay dog bit a smaller dog. Injuries were not serious. The stray dog was taken to the Brown County Humane Society. A report was done for documentation.

Renville County Sheriff’s Office

• Received a 911 call at about 9 p.m. Saturday about a motorcycle crash near the intersection of 1st Street South and 5th Avenue East in Franklin. A 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jordan Lund, 27, Franklin, was northbound on 1st Street South, left the road on a curve and crashed. Lund was transported by CentraCare Ambulance to CentraCare-Redwood Falls Hospital. Fairfax Police and the Franklin Medical Response Unit assisted. The crash is under investigation.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a one-vehicle rollover at 10:18 p.m. Saturday on 441st Avenue near 280th Street, Dryden Township, about 3 miles southeast of Gaylord. Travis Hildebrandt, 52, Gaylord, was driving a 2007 Toyota RAV 4 southbound, lost control on a curve, rolled and came to a stop upside down. Hildebrandt wore a seat belt and had minor injuries. He was transported to a local hospital by Gaylord Ambulance. Vehicle damage was heavy, disabling. The Gaylord Fire Dept. assisted.
