Minnesota State Patrol
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash on southbound Highway 71 at 48th Avenue, Dovre Township, Kandiyohi County at 7:02 a.m. Thursday. A 2000 Ford F250 driven by a 16-year-old Spicer boy was southbound on Highway 71 when he collided with a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado driven westbound, crossing Highway 71 by Debra Mae Palm, 66, Morton. Palm was transported to St. Cloud Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The juvenile was transported to a Willmar hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers wore seat belts. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Kandiyohi Rescue, Willmar Fire Dept., CentraCare Ambulance and Lifelink helicopter assisted.
New Ulm Police
• Issued a trespass letter to a 24-year-old man and 39-year-old woman both of Madelia at Walmart at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday. The couple walked out of Walmart without paying for more than $1,000 worth of merchandise and face theft charges.
• Performed a welfare check at Plaza Garibaldi at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday. A 64-year old New Ulm man was found passed out at the wheel of a vehicle. He was arrested for DWI and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
