Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a semi-car crash near the intersection of CR 8 and 18, Comfrey at 8:39 a.m. Friday. Vehicles driven by Joseph Peterson, 18, Redwood Falls; and Vladamire Segura Garo, 27, Montevideo, were both southbound on CR 8. Peterson initially activated his signal to turn west onto 110th St., then learned he had to turn east and collided with a vehicle driven by Segura Garo to attempted to pass Peterson. Both vehicles came to a rest in the westbound ditch.

Peterson had minor injuries. Assisting agencies included the Brown Cpunty Sheriff’s Office, Springfield Ambulance, Comfrey Fire/First Responders, Minnesota State Patrol and Maloney’s Towing.

New Ulm Police

• A 35-year-old New Ulm woman told police at 8:10 a.m. Friday that a 37-year-old New Ulm man, the father of her children, was not letting the children go with her, which she was violated a court order. The father had a different opinion on the court order. A report was done for documentation.

• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 1:16 a.m. Saturday at Broadway and 4th st. S. Impairment was detected on the driver, a 21-year-old Evan man and he was arrested for DWI and transported to the Brown County Jail. Reports went to Brown County Probation and the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for third-degree DWI charge consideration.

• A 48-year-old New Ulm woman told police she was walking her dog at 9:01 a.m. Saturday near 5th St. N. and Linden St. when a pit bull began attacking her dog. Police cited the pit bull owner, a 34-year-old New Ulm man with dog running at large. A dangerous dog report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Stopped a vehicle at 12:07 a.m. Sunday near Broadway and 8th St. N. Impairment signs were detected from the driver, a 32-year-old New Ulm man who tested under the legal limit to drive. A marijuana smoking device and open alcohol container were seen in the vehicle. The driver was given a verbal warning for both offenses. A report was done for documentation.

• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 2:05 a.m. Sunday near Broadway and 10th St. S. The driver, a 48-year-old New Ulm woman, showed impairment signs but passed field sobriety testing. The woman said she used meth two months ago and marijuana two weeks ago. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a domestic report at 10:35 a.m. Sunday. A 35-year-old New Ulm woman said she and her boyfriend, a 36-year-old New Ulm man, got into a verbal argument and he grabbed her arm. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for review of domestic assault charges. No injuries were reported.

• A 54-year-old New Ulm woman with a sign and release warrant from Stearns County for failure to appear in court, was given a new court date and released. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a criminal damage to property report at 5:44 p.m. Sunday on the 200 block of Minnesota St. N. Juveniles damaged landscape block, causing $100 worth of damage. The business owner did not pursue charges. A report was done for documentation.
