New Ulm Police
• Met with a 32-year-old North Mankato man at 3:39 p.m. Friday who said he has joint custody of his 13-year-old daughter, with her mother, a 31-year-old New Ulm woman. The man said it was his weekend to have his daughter, but she went with her mother to Texas. The man said he wanted to document the incident.
• Police were informed at 6:07 p.m. Friday by the FBI of a possible fugitive at a New Ulm residence. It was learned that the 31-year-old man was wanted in the State of California for a probation violation. Police went to the location arrested the man without incident and transported him to jail. Reports went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office and Brown County Probation.
• Stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation at 2:06 a.m. Saturday at Broadway and 16th St. N. The driver was very hostile towards officers and showed impairment signs. He was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. Reports went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office and Brown County Probation.
• Officers received theft information at Walmart at 7:13 p.m. Saturday. It was learned a customer requested $100 cash from a self-checkout site and left without taking the cash. A woman returned and told Walmart of the theft. Video surveillance showed the next customer taking the cash and putting it in her purse. The suspect was identified by her credit card information she used to pay for her transactions. Police contacted a 27-year-old Morgan woman who admitted she had the money. She and Walmart agreed that if the woman returned the money, no theft charges would be pursued. The money was returned.
• Police went to detox for a report of illegal items found in a 35-year-old Mankato man’s personal belongings. A report went to the City Attorney’s Office for consideration of cannabis possession and fifth-degree controlled substance charges.
• Took a vandalism report at the former Burger King location at 1:48 p.m. Saturday. The drive-through window was pushed open and a glass menu board was smashed. A damage estimate was not available. A report was done for documentation.
