New Ulm Police

• Responded to a driving complaint of a vehicle swerving and arrested a 35-year-old Boone, Ia. Man near CR 25 and CR 13 in Sigel Township for second-degree DWI at 2:22 p.m. Saturday. The man was transported to detox prior to the Brown County Jail.

• Stopped a vehicle for weaving in its lane near 20th St. S and Valley St. at 11:25 p.m. Saturday. The driver, a 74-year-old Courtland man, was arrested for DWI and transported to the Brown County Jail. Pending blood test results, a report will go to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

Sleepy Eye Police

• Cited 17 and 14-year-old females for underage consumption at 9:02 p.m. Saturday on 12th Ave. N.E.

Redwood County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a possible vehicle fire at 11:34 p.m. Sunday near State Highway 19 and CR 17, Section 2, Redwood Falls Township. Officers found a motor vehicle crash on private property. It was determined a 2014 Subaru Outback left the road and struck a parked, unoccupied John Deere tractor. Both vehicles were engulfed in flames.

The Redwood Falls Fire Department extinguished the fire. The driver of the Subaru was found deceased in the vehicle. The name of the driver will be released later. Assisting agencies included the Minnesota State Patrol, Redwood Falls Police and Fire Departments, Centra Care Ambulance and the Minnesota State Fire Marshall’s Office. An investigation is ongoing.
