New Ulm Police
• Took a report at 12:52 a.m. Sunday of a 19-year-old woman that left her group home. An attempt to locate was issued. The woman returned on her own a short time later. A report went to Brown County Human Services.
• Responded to an intoxicated male lying in an alley near Broadway and 1st St. N. at 11:56 p.m. Saturday. Police found a 52-year-old New Ulm man staggering. Officers were unable to contact the man’s wife. He tried to push an officer away from him. The man was transported to detox. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to a domestic with two people fighting in the street at 7:31 p.m. Saturday near 4th St. N. and State St. N. Police talked with a 40-year-old man and 40-year-old female, both of Annandale, intoxicated, trying to walk from downtown to the Colonial Inn. The man said he tried to carry the woman, which upset her and she tackled him into a bush. The man had a cut lip and said he was punched by the woman. The woman complained of a sore arm, wrist and scuffed right knee. An ambulance transported the woman to New Ulm Medical Center (NUMC). The man refused medical attention.
The woman was arrested and transported to detox after she was cleared from NUMC. The man was driven to Colonial Inn. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for domestic assault charges, to Brown County Probation, the Committee Against Domestic Assault and Wright County Probation.
• Stopped a vehicle for speeding and failing to use a turn signal at 7:28 p.m. Saturday at Broadway and 12th St. N. Police noticed for impairment signs from the driver, a 45-year-old Courtland woman and obtained a blood sample that was sent to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. The woman was transported to the Brown County Jail for a 10-hour safety hold. A report will go to the city attorneys’ office after blood test results are received.
• Stopped a vehicle for speeding at 1:05 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson and 5th St. N. Police noticed impairment signs from the driver, a 37-year-old Springfield woman. She was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail where a breath test was obtained. A report went to the city attorney for consideration of 3rd and 4th-degree DWI charges, and to Brown County Probation.
