New Ulm Police

• Responded to a theft report at Walmart at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday. A 50-year-old Lafayette man was cited for misdemeanor theft for not scanning $310.33 worth of items, mostly meat, from June 29 to July 26, 2024. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a welfare check of a 44-year-old New Ulm woman said to be breaking residence windows on State Street North at 4:04 p.m. Tuesday. The woman was not injured. She was transported to New Ulm Medical Center for a mental health evaluation. A report went to Brown County Human Services.

• Responded to a theft report of an undetermined amount of candy and change from a vending machine at B & J Laundromat, 506 Center St. at 4:32 p.m. Tuesday. Video surveillance was sent to police investigators.
