New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 3:34 p.m. Thursday at 1st St. N. and Broadway. A 2013 Buick Encore driven by Candy Starr McIntire, 56, New Ulm was northbound on Broadway, behind a 2002 Buick Century driven by Janice Lorelle Lutz, 74, New Ulm. Lutz slowed for a pedestrian crossing the street while a vehicle in the other lane tried to merge into the opposite lance, nearly hitting the Buick Encore which rear-ended the Buick Century. Damage was moderate to both vehicles.

• Received an Order For Protection (OFP) violation report of a text message received by a 36-year-old New Ulm woman from a 47-year-old Norwood-Young America man at 12:26 a.m. Friday. A report went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Received a shredding machine backfire report at New Ulm Steel & Recycling, 218 19th St. S. at 7:35 a.m. Friday. A report went to New Ulm City Hall.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without reported injuries at the intersection of CR 25 and 601st Avenue, Cornish Township, 6 miles southwest of Winthrop at 4:56 p.m. Tuesday. Melissa Annis, 46, Gibbon, was driving a 2012 GMC Sierra pickup pulling a horse trailer eastbound on CR 25 that stopped just east of the intersection. Jared Wendt, 40, Nicollet was driving a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis southbound on 601st Avenue that collided with the pickup. Damage was heavy to the GMC and Mercury. Both drivers wore seat belts. A stop sign and electrical pole support wires were damaged. The Gibbon Fire Department, Winthrop Police and Ambulance assisted.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:33 p.m. Friday on TH 25, just west of 311th Avenue, Washington Lake Township. Sandra Frederickson, 55, Glencoe, was driving a 2001 Harley Davidson Cruiser westbound on TH 25 when it collided with an International Harvester tractor driven by Terrance Morrison, 66, Belle Plaine. Frederickson was transported to an area hospital for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Green Isle Rescue, Ridgeview Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted.
