New Ulm Police

• Stopped a vehicle for a driver holding a cell phone in their hand on the 500 block, Front St. N. at 1:25 a.m. Sunday. Police noticed a one-hitter (handheld pipe designed to hold a small amount of cannabis). The driver, a 19-year-old New Ulm female, was cited for use of a wireless communications device, open cannabis package and transporting cannabis, under age 21.

• Assisted the Brown County Evaluation Center, detox with putting a patient into an isolation cell at 4:51 a.m. Monday. The patient, a 35-year-old St. Peter man, assaulted an evaluation center staff member, who had injuries examined at the New Ulm Medical Center. A report for fourth-degree assault charge consideration went to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Responded to an attempted break-in at Orale Mexican Restaurant, 1627 S. Broadway at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday. Restaurant door trim was pried out. Access was not gained. A report was done for documentation.

• Arrested a 45-year-old New Ulm man on a Brown County Arrest & Detain Order on the 900 block of Valley St. N. at 10:42 a.m. Tuesday. The man was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report went to Brown County Probation.

Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a physical domestic all at 5:31 p.m. Monday at Mound Creek County Park. A 23-year-old Texas woman was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. No ambulance was called, according to the sheriff’s office. A report for domestic assault by strangulation, domestic assault to cause fear of bodily harm or death and a DWI probation violation was sent to the county attorney’s office.
