New Ulm Police

• Received a juvenile trouble report at 5:01 p.m. Friday regarding a 13-year-old Courtland girl who did not come home after school. The mother has a possible location of the girl. Police located her at the location. She was transported to the Brown County Law Enforcement Center and later turned over to her mother. Reports went to Nicollet County Probation and Brown County Human Services.

• Received a fight report at 12:06 p.m. Friday at Smiley’s Tavern. A 22-year-old New Ulm female told police she was accused of stealing an e-cigarette and was grabbed in the shoulder by a 31-year-old New Ulm woman. The bartender, a 44-year-old New Ulm woman, told the women they needed to leave, but prompted an individual to pull the bartender to the ground. The women began to fight. Police noticed large amounts of different-colored hair on the ground. Nobody sought medical attention and no arrests were made. A report went to the city attorney’s office for consideration of disorderly conduct and/or 5th-degree assault charges.

• Police on patrol noticed individuals in Lincoln Park, 718 S. State, after hours and found alcoholic beverages near the pickle-ball courts. Breath test were administered to all individuals in the park at 12:05 a.m. Saturday. A 19-year-old male from Willis, Tx. and an 18-year-old from Appleton, Mn were cited for underage consumption. Officers noticed other males running from the park and located one of them near Payne and 8th Street south. A breath test was administered and a 19-year-old male from Park Ridge, Il was cited for underage consumption.

• A 14-year-old New Ulm male told police he was assaulted by his father, a 37-year-old New Ulm man at 11:11 a.m. Saturday at 2202 N. Broadway. Police noticed red and purple bruises and swelling on the boy’s left eye. Police talked to the boy’s father, arrested him for domestic assault, and transported him to the Brown County Jail. Reports went to the Committee Against Domestic Assault (CADA), Brown County Human Services, Brown County Probation, and the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of third-degree assault and domestic assault.

• Responded to a fight report at Harmon Park, 101 Garden St. N. at 11:13 p.m. Saturday. A 17-year-old Red Wing girl told police she was assaulted by a 17-year-old New Ulm girl. Witnesses at the scene were not forthcoming with information. Police obtained video surveillance of a fight from the New Ulm Park & Recreation Dept. A report against both girls for disorderly conduct and fifth-degree assault will be sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office. An underage consumption charge against the Red Wing girl will be considered. A report went to the Minnesota Department of Corrections-Chaska District.

• Responded to a New Ulm residence at 111:13 p.m. Saturday where a 17-year-old Fairfax boy had a mental health crisis. The boy agreed to be transported to New Ulm Medical Center. A report was sent to the Minnesota Department of Corrections.

• Responded to a domestic report at 9:25 p.m. Sunday at the Harmony Inn parking lot, 1901 S. Broadway. A 32-year-old Mankato man said he and his 26-year-old Hanska girlfriend got into a verbal argument. The female said she and her boyfriend got into a physical altercation earlier in the evening in Hanska. Police asked the Brown County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) to respond, before they arrested the Mankato man for domestic assault and transported him to the Brown county Jail. The female did not seek medical attention. Reports went to Blue Earth County Probation and the BCSO.

• Took a report at 2:26 p.m. Monday of a four-year-old boy outside, crying on 4th St. South. A neighbor walked over and learned the boy’s mother was sleeping. She was not able to arouse the mother and called police. The mother, a 29-year-old New Ulm woman, said she was not sleeping and unaware her son was outside. A report went to Brown County Human Services.

• Received a one-vehicle crash report without reported injuries at Center and North Highland Ave. at 1:06 p.m. Monday. A 1998 Peterbilt truck and semi trailer driven by Jordan Daniel Schultz, 25, New Ulm, was westbound on Center Street, turned right onto Highland when he yielded to avoid hitting another vehicle at the stop sign on North Highland and severely damaged a fire hydrant with the semi trailer. The trailer was not damaged.
