New Ulm Police
• Received a suspicious activity report at Kwik Trip, 1521 S. Broadway at 9:28 am. Jan. 18. The suspect later identified as a 37-year-old New Ulm man caused a disturbance in the store and left before police arrived. A report was done for documentation and sent to Brown County Human Services and the Brown County Attorney’s Office.
Police dealt with the 37-year-old man several times soon after. They received a public assistance call on the 800 block at 12:11 p.m. Jan. 18. A mother was concerned with the wellbeing of her son, the same 37-year-old New Ulm man. Reports were done for documentation and Brown County Human Services and the Brown County Attorney’s Office.
Anytime Fitness, 512 2st St. S. called at 2:39 p.m. about a disturbing phone call including odd comments. The caller was later identified as the same man. Officers contacted him at his residence. Reports went to the county attorney and human services.
The New Ulm Country Club called at 5:13 p.m. Jan. 18 of a disturbing phone call about the same man that sounded intoxicated or having a mental health crisis, who said he wanted to give a gift to a club member. Reports went to the county attorney and human services.
The New Ulm Recreation Center at 512 2st St. S. called at 2:30 p.m. about a man who appeared to have a gun. The same man was located and transported to New Ulm Medical Center (NUMC) for a mental health evaluation. Three BB guns were found on the man and seized by police. Reports went to human services and the county attorney for consideration of a disorderly conduct charge.
• Responded to a report of a female who appeared to be passed out near Minnesota St. and 3rd St. South. Police found a 25-year-old New Ulm woman. She was uncooperative with police and Allina Ambulance personnel, but was transported to NUMC where he was uncooperative. A report was done for documentation.
