New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash report without injuries on Oak Street near Raymond Drive at 11:03 a.m. Jan. 17. Halle Hinderman, 17, New Ulm was driving a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Oak Street, ahead of a 2010 Toyota Camry driven by Samuel Ibberson, 16, New Ulm. Hinderman said she hit ice, slid and spun. Ibberson said he was going slowly downhill, saw the Jeep hit ice and tried to slow down, hit the same ice and slid into the Jeep. Both drivers wore seat belts. Damage was minor to moderate to both vehicles.

• Responded to a theft call at Menards at 5:48 p.m. Jan. 17. A store manager told police an unidentified female is on video surveillance stealing 10 rolls of wire with a total value of $532.48. The manager confronted the female who didn’t cooperate and left in a Chevrolet Malibu. Police are familiar with the female and are trying to contact her. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Responded to a 911 hangup on the 800 block of Payne St. S. at 9:53 p.m. Jan. 17. A 37-year-old New Ulm man was argumentative with police. He denied needing assistance and asked officers to leave. Officers contacted the man’s father who lives with his son. Reports were sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office and Brown County Human Services.

Redwood County Sheriff’s Office

• Arrested a male vehicle driver at 4:02 a.m. Thursday in Walnut Grove after attempting to stop a vehicle during a 35-mile pursuit at high rates of speed. A successful PIT maneuver (precision immobilization technique) was used to stop the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody for outstanding warrants. Redwood Falls Police and the Murray County Sheriff’s Office assisted. The incident is under investigation.
