New Ulm Police

• Met with a 22-year-old New Ulm man at 10:16 a.m. Oct. 20 who said he was biking at the 1st Street South and Valley crossing when the train crossing stop arm began to come down. The man said he hit his head on the metal square part of the crossing arm attached to the standard. The man was transported by ambulance to the New Ulm Medical Center. A report was sent to the Canadian Pacific Railroad.

• Took a call at 7:59 a.m. Oct. 20 about a loud noise at New Ulm Steel & Recycling, 218 19th St. S. A business representative said a machine backfired. A report was sent to city hall.

• Talked to a 39-year-old Lamberton woman at 5 p.m. Oct. 20 who said she used her debit card at the Wal-Mart Subway, shopped at the store and realized she didn’t have her debit card. She called her bank and realized purchases were made with it since she left the card at Subway. Purchases included $236.29 to OG&E Electric, Oklahoma City, $35.80 at Smokes Plus in New Ulm and $174.99 at Shoe Sensation in New Ulm.

Officers viewed Smokes Plus store surveillance and located a man in a semi truck in the Wal-Mart parking lot. A 21-year-old Oklahoma City man admitted to stealing the card at Wal-Mart. He was issued a theft citation. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Talked to a 66-year-old New Ulm woman at 8:49 a.m. Oct. 22 who said someone stole her package left near Emerson Union mailboxes. Items were valued at $85. Police are waiting for surveillance footage.
