• Responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 15 at Division Street, Sumter Township, McLeod County at 3:43 p.m. Aug. 26. A 2016 Jeep Cherokee driven by Michal Jean Clobes, 75, Willmar and a 2012 Harley Davidson FLSTC driven by Lance Andrew Bennett, 63, Winthrop, were both southbound on TH 15 when they collided near Brownton. Bennett was transported to Hutchinson Health with life-threatening injuries.

A motorcycle passenger, Debra Lee Bennett, 61, Winthrop, was transported to Hutchinson Health with non-life threatening injuries. Clobes was not injured. Alcohol was not involved. Clobes wore a seat belt. Lance Bennett did not wear a helmet. Debra Bennett wore a helmet. The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Winthrop Police, Brownton Fire Department and Allina Health responded.

New Ulm Police

• Reported a one-vehicle crash at 718 4th North Street at 10:35 a.m. Aug. 26. Gideon Turgeon, 27, New Ulm, was driving a 2005 Yamaha 250 westbound, tried to do a wheelie and flipped the bike over on himself. Turgeon was moderate injuries. Damage was minor to the rear motorcycle fender.

• A 33-year-old New Ulm woman told police at 3:29 p.m. Aug. 25 the manager at Linderhof Park Apartments, 1100 16th St. N. said her income from Willow Tree Family Care of Minneapolis was too high, over Section 8 guidelines, for her to continue living at the complex. The woman said she never worked for the company and is working with a compliance officer. A report was sent to investigators.

• An 80-year-old New Ulm woman on the 600 block of N. Garden St. told police an individual has been living in her attic since December 2022. She said she can’t find the person but can hear him. Police have had similar reports from the woman in the past. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• A 34-year-old Lafayette woman report a possible HRO violation against a 32-year-old New Ulm man at 2015 S. Broadway at 6:08 p.m. Aug. 25. The woman said the man communicated with her using a Family Wizard app with dialogue. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Arrested a 37-year-old Cottonwood woman on a Minnesota Dept. of Corrections (DOC) warrant at the New Ulm Medical Center at 9:40 a.m. Aug. 26. The woman was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was sent to the DOC.

• Stopped a 57-year-old New Ulm woman for crossing over the center line at Broadway and 15th St. N. at 12:17 a.m. Aug. 27. The driver showed impairment clues and was arrested for DWI. She was transported to the Brown County Jail. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Stopped a vehicle pulling a camper with non-working lights at at Minnesota and 3rd St. S. at 12:53 p.m. Aug. 27. The driver, a 58-year-old New Ulm man was arrested for driving with a cancelled driver’s license and transported to the Brown County Jail. Reports were sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office and Brown County Probation.
