NEW ULM POLICE

•Police stopped a vehicle 7:55 p.m. Friday parked in the middle of the road on State Street in front of the Probation building. Officers searched the vehicle after smelling marijuana. Marijuana was found in the vehicle. The driver was cited for drug procession, procession of brass knuckles and tinted window violation.

• Police responded to a domestic disturbance at 9:48 p.m. Friday on the 300 block of Hollywood Avenue. A 21-year-old New Ulm woman was reported chasing her live-in boyfriend, a 22-year-old Lafayette man, with a knife. The woman was arrested for second-degree assault, interfering with a 911 call, fifth-degree assault and domestic assault. After she was arrested, the woman made suicidal comments. Police brought her to New Ulm Medical Center for observation. The case was forwarded to the county attorney.

• A 65-year-old Wisheck, North Dakota, man was arrested 1 p.m. Saturday for violation of a harassment order.

• A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:44 p.m. Saturday at 20th South and German streets. A 2012 Ford Escape, driven by Michael Daepaul Johnson, 47, of New Ulm, was traveling east on 20th Street, making a left turn into the Casey’s General Store parking lot. A 2005 Ford Taurus driven by Dustin Lee Portner, 39 of Lafayette was behind Johnson also traveling east on 20th Street. Portner collided with Johnson. The two vehicles sustained moderate damage, no injuries were reported.

• An unknown male entered a residence around 3:15 a.m. on the 1100 block of North State Street. The individual was seen entering the residents on survelliance, leaving six minutes later. No evidence of break-in was found, and it is unknown if anything was stolen.
