New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at 9th North and Franklin St. at 2:35 pm. May 21. Rene A. Garza, 16, New Ulm, pulled out of an alley driving a 2003 Chevy Impala and collided with Trudy H. Fennern, 69, New Ulm, driving a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on 9th North Street. The Chevy had moderate, functional front bumper damage. The Jeep had moderately damaged rear wheel and passenger rear side damage. Both drivers wore seat belts.

• Responded to a fight reported at 8:42 a.m. Sunday at the B&L Bar. A 42-year-old New Ulm man was punched, fell and hit his head, according to witnesses. He was transported to New Ulm Medical Center and later flown to Hennepin County Medical Center. A report was sent to investigators.

• Stopped a vehicle at 1:06 a.m at Minnesota Street and 3rd North Street and arrested a 27-year-old New Ulm woman for third-degree DWI. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Stopped a vehicle at 12:49 a.m. Sunday at 13 S. Minnesota St.. A 34-year-old New Ulm man was found to have a driver’s license cancelled-inimical to public safety. Vehicle plates were taken. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Stopped a vehicle with an inoperative headlight at 11:33 p.m. Saturday at 1st North and State streets. Police smelled marijuana and cited a 16-year-old Madelia male for possession of a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol possession. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Stopped a vehicle with an inoperable headlight at 12:33 a.m. Saturday at Broadway and 11th St. S. A 32-year-old South Carolina man was cited for drug paraphernalia possession. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Entered a man as missing to all Minnesota law enforcement agencies after performing a welfare check at Emerson Union Apartments, 15 State St. N. His vehicle was last seen in the Emerson Union parking lot. He was described as a white, 42-year-old man, 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighing 175 pounds with brown eyes.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash with non-life threatening injuries at 4:32 p.m. May 20 at TH 4 and 740th Ave., Martinsburg Twp., Renville County. Ava F. Schultz, 18, Hector, was southbound on TH 4 and Keith D. Peterson, 67, Hector, was southbound on TH 4 in a 2020 Dodge Ram 1500 when they collided. Schultz was transported to an Olivia hospital. Both drivers wore seat belts. Peterson was not injured. Both drivers wore seat belts. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Hector Police and Hector Ambulance assisted.
