New Ulm Police
• Received a report of a stolen front vehicle license plate at 3:53 p.m. May 16. The vehicle owner was not sure where it happened. A report was made for documentation and the license plate was entered on the Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles website for stolen plates.
• Responded to a disturbance report at 1:12 a.m. May 17 at 424 Jefferson St. N. A 68-year-old New Ulm man tried to break into a residence. A front door was damaged. The suspect appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The man was transported to the New Ulm Medical Center, then to the detox center. A report for fourth-degree burglary and criminal damage to property was sent the Brown County Attorney’s Office.
• A New Ulm woman reported receiving information at 10:56 a.m. May 17 about an individual who tried to open a credit line under her name at a Litchfield bank. The suspect was unsuccessful. A report went to investigators.
Sleepy Eye Police
• Received a theft report at 3:12 p.m. May 16 from Family Dollar Store, 617 Main St. E. A store alarm went off. Police are looking for more information on what may have been stolen. A report was done for documentation and for more investigation.
