Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a verbal dispute at 7:56 p.m. May 10 at CR 27 and CR 11, Milford Township between a Wells woman and her daughter. No damage or injuries were reported. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Received a stolen vehicle report from Sigel Repair, CR 27, Milford Township, at 10:52 a.m. May 11. A black sedan loaner vehicle was reported stolen by a Sleepy Eye man. The car was later returned without gas but contained a Sleepy Eye man’s personal items. The man who borrowed the car was asked to put a half-tank of gas in it and return it. He did not return the vehicle. It was later found undamaged in Sleepy Eye. The business owner did not wish to press charges.

New Ulm Police

• Received a stolen bicycle report at 4:48 p.m. May 10 at Linderhof Apartments. A purple and silver Rock Creek 24-inch girls bike was reported stolen. A report was done for documentation.

• Performed a welfare check at 9:11 p.m. May 10 at 2 Minnecon Dr. A report with an open bottle in a motor vehicle charge on a 55-year-old Tennessee woman was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Stopped a vehicle at 1623 N. Broadway at 1:09 a.m. May 11. A 40-year-old Wisconsin man faces no insurance, no Minnesota registration and driving after license revocation charges.

• Responded to a suspicious activity report at 1:37 a.m. May 11 at Pizza Ranch, 1927 S. Broadway St. A 33-year-old Wisconsin man faces tax evasion charges for a license tab owned by another individual.

• Stopped a 46-year-old New Ulm man at 11:52 a.m. May 11 at State Street and 8th Street North for driving a mini bike that was not street legal. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Received a report of explosions at 12:43 p.m. May 11 and 4:21 p.m. May 11 at New Ulm Steel & Recycling, 218 19th St. S. A report was sent to New Ulm City Hall and to the New Ulm City Attorney.

• Responded to a domestic report at 7:38 p.m. May 11 at Best Western Plus, 2101 S. Broadway St. A 35-year-old Detroit Lakes woman was arrested and taken to jail on domestic assault and violation of an order of protection. A 29-year-old Detroit Lakes man was not arrested. A motel room mirror was damaged. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Received a report an an angry man walking into New Ulm Medical Center, 1324 5th St. N. at 8:03 p.m May 11. He refused to wear a mask. Staff could not understand him. He left the scene before police arrived. He was described as an older man with gray hair, thin, with missing teeth. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a domestic call at New Ulm Mobile Village, 2526 S. Bridge at 10:34 a.m. May 12. A 28-year-old Cleveland man was arrested for giving a false name and date of birth to police and domestic assault. A 40-year-old Mankato woman was not charged. Reports were sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office and probation.
