A Sibley County man was rescued from a grain bin Tuesday. The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a man stuck in a grain bin. He had been engulfed in corn up to his chest and had been stuck for a couple of hours before he was located and help called.
Members of the Gibbon Fire Department and Winthrop Fire Departments responded to 23504 631st Ave., about five miles north of Gibbon, to rescue the trapped man. The grain bin was cut open in several locations to drain the corn to free the victim. The victim was transported to New Ulm Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and precautionary measures.
