Madelia Police
• Madelia Police and Ambulance Service were dispatched at 12:11 p.m. Monday to the 500 block of 1st Street S.W. for a report of a child struck by a lawn mower. Police arrived within a minute of being dispatched and discovered a father holding a two-year-old boy with critical injuries. Police immediately transported the father and child to Madelia Community Hospital, arriving within four minutes of the original call.
The child was stabilized and airlifted to Regions Hospital, St. Paul. Police investigated the incident and determined its cause to be accidental. The child is listed in critical conditions, according to a police news release.
