Renville County Sheriff

• A two-vehicle accident occurred 3:24 p.m. Friday at the intersection of County Road 1 and County Road 4, approximately eight miles south of Danube.

A 2004 Internation tractor truck and trailer, driven by Mark Wagner, 62, of Bird Island was traveling east on CR 4 and fail to yield after stopping at the stop sign at the intersection.

A 1996 Subaru Legacy, driven by Haley Winslow, 18, of Franklin was traveling north on CR 1 and collided with the 2004 International. Madison Vagle, 22, of Redwood Falls, was Winslow’s passenger.

Wagner was transported to Renville County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Winslow was transported to Carris Health-Redwood with non-life-threatening injuries and later flown to North Memorial Hosptial. Vagle was flown from the scene to North Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

New Ulm Police

• Police received a vandalism report 4 p.m. Friday at the Way of the Cross. The vandalism likely occurred between 8 a.m. and noon Friday. The initial damage is between $300 and $400.

• Two vehicles collided 11:04 a.m. Saturday at 12th S. Broadway. A 2018 Dodge Durango, driven by Shawn Edward Jakes, 47, of New Ulm was southbound n Broadway near 12th South. A 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Deloris Mae Schultz, 85, of New Ulm was eastbound on 12th South. The Equinox stopped at the 12 south stop sign, then entered the intersection and both vehicles collided.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. A passenger in Jakes var received minor injuries and was transported to New Ulm Medical Center.
