Redwood County Sheriff

• Received a report at 12:10 p.m. on Oct. 21 that Ryan Joel Buchanan, 29, of Franklin received life-threatening injuries from a farm accident at a rural Belview farm site.

Buchanan’s family says he is in ICU and is awaiting extensive medical procedures, said the report. The family also said a CaringBridge site is pending; check Facebook for updates.

Responding agencies were North Memorial Air Care, the Belview Fire Department and First Responders, North Memorial Ambulance Services, the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Natural Resources.

State Patrol

• Received a five-vehicle crash report on Highway 169, Lake Prairie Township, Nicollet County at 7:17 p.m. Sunday. A semi was northbound on Highway 169 in the right lane when a deer came from the right ditch. The semi swerved to avoid the deer but hit it. A 2016 Dodge Charger driven by Stacy A. Myers, 42, Shakopee, slowed due to the swerving semi and was rear-ended by a 2002 Honda driven by Patrick S. Deck, 29, Minneapolis. All vehicles pulled to the right shoulder. A 2011 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Lacy R. Scharping, 17, Gaylord, slowed to deer parts in the left lane and was rear-ended by a 2009 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Micaylia B. Kraywinkel, 27, Eagle Lake. The Chrysler spun around and was hit by a 2002 Mazda Protege driven by Richard A. Gonzalez, 23, Chaska. The Chrysler was pushed into the median ejecting the driver. The Mazda traveled into the shoulder and guardrail, striking a standing passenger.

Ambria A. Myers, 18, Savage, a passenger in the Dodge, had non-life threatening injuries but was not transported to a health care facility. Another passenger, Clinton Myers, 35, Savage; Gonzalez, Kraywinkel, Scharping and Kiri Breanne, 14, Gaylord, were all transported to Le Sueur Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All people wore seat belts. Le Sueur and St. Peter Police, the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office and Ridgeview Ambulance assisted.

New Ulm Police

• Received an animal complaint report at 2526 Bridge St. S. at 11:50 p.m. Sunday. A parent reported a dog bite and transporting a child to New Ulm Medical Center. Some blood was drawn but the injury was not serious. The animal control officer will follow up on the dog’s rabi shot status.

• Received a theft report at Cashwise Foods, 1220 Westridge Road at 12:31 p.m. Monday. A bad check report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney for charge consideration.
