New Ulm Police
• Received a call at 6:51 p.m. Friday about concerns for a five-year-old child at New Ulm Mobile Village. Officers went to the scene and found a child outside a residence with the father inside asleep. Officers knocked on the door and woke up the father who opened the door and the child went back into the residence.
• Received a two-vehicle crash report at 5th North Street and Broadway. A 2004 Ford F150 driven by Andrew J. Neid, 16, Sleepy Eye, was approaching a stop sign at 5th North and Broadway, facing east when he pulled to the right to turn right and collided with a 2014 GMC Acadia driven by Catherine A. Galvin, 57, New Ulm, who was also eastbound. Damage was minor to the Neid vehicle and moderate to the Galvin vehicle. Both drivers wore seat belts.
• Received a drunk/intoxicated person report at 310 8th St. N. at 1:09 a.m. Sunday. A 25-year-old Shakopee man apparently wandered into the wrong residence. He was transported to the New Ulm Evaluation Center detox division. No damage or injuries were reported.

County Sheriff
• A Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force agent conducted a controlled purchase of a handgun in Lake Crystal at about 9 p.m. Friday. Acting undercover, the agent met with Troy S. Martin, 32, of rural Madelia, to buy a handgun from Martin. After the purchase, Martin was stopped by uniformed officers and arrested.
A convicted felon, Martin is in the Blue Earth County Jail on charges of possession of a firearm. Martin was accompanied by two other adult men who are not being charged at this time. Assisting agencies included the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Crystal Police and the Minnesota State Patrol.
