COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Republican Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has expressed alarm that a man who worked as his family’s bodyguard is facing federal drug trafficking charges. Campaign spokesperson Connie Luck said 43-year-old Justin Salsburey, of Bellefontaine, was removed from the Ramaswamys’ security detail by his private security firm as soon as they learned of the matter. Salsburey and his wife, Ruthann Rankin, were each charged in December with conspiracy and possession in a scheme to move large amounts of narcotics through the U.S. mail. Luck said Salsburey passed multiple background checks and a pre-employment drug test and never failed a drug screening.
