Villanova: Report of shooter a ‘cruel hoax’
VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) — Villanova University’s president has called a report of a shooter on campus a “cruel hoax.” On Thursday, Rev. Peter M. Donohue stated there was no active shooter, no injuries, and no evidence of firearms. Earlier, police responded to reports of an active shooter, prompting a campus lockdown. Students received alerts to lock and barricade doors. Radnor Township police cleared buildings and reported no victims. Delaware County’s district attorney said they were working to control the situation. Videos showed emergency vehicles and armed officers on campus. Villanova is a private Catholic university in the Philadelphia suburbs.
