Student charged with voting illegally in Mich.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a Chinese national who was charged with voting illegally in Michigan last fall has fled the U.S. The man had surrendered his Chinese passport in November and was told not to leave Michigan. But the FBI says he traveled to China in January by showing another passport. Last fall, when he was a student at the University of Michigan, he was accused of lying about his citizenship and casting a ballot during early voting. The case was pending.
