Baltimore bridge collapses after powerless cargo ship rams into support column

BALTIMORE (AP) — A container ship lost power and rammed into a major bridge in Baltimore, causing the span to buckle into the river below. The collapse plunged a construction crew into the dangerously cold waters. Rescuers pulled out two people, but six others were missing and presumed dead. The ship’s crew issued a mayday call moments before the crash took down the Francis Scott Key Bridge. The Maryland governor said the mayday enabled authorities to limit vehicle traffic on the span. The ship struck one of the bridge’s supports, causing the structure to collapse like a toy. It tumbled into the water in a matter of seconds

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are coming to McDonald’s

NEW YORK (AP) — Krispy Kreme and McDonald’s are getting together over breakfast. The doughnut chain and the fast food giant unveiled plans on Tuesday to offer Krispy Kreme products at McDonald’s locations across the United States. The companies say a phased rollout is expected to start this year, with availability at participating restaurants nationwide expected by the end of 2026. McDonald’s plans to make three Krispy Kreme doughnut varieties available. The partnership is hardly the first bringing major restaurant chains and popular food brands together. Taco Bell, for example, has long boasted Doritos-flavored tacos while Wendy’s brought a Cinnabon “pull-apart” treat to its menu last month.

Judge Juan M. Merchan on Tuesday cited Trump’s previous comments about him and others involved in the case, as well as a looming April 15 trial date in granting the prosecution’s request for a gag order. Prosecutors had asked for the gag order citing what they called his “long history of making public and inflammatory remarks” about people involved in his legal cases.
