Air quality alert issued until Monday
Due to Canada wildfire smoke
ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) issued an air quality alert for all of Minnesota Friday.
The alert continues until 9 a.m. Monday, July 14. Heavy, ground-level smoke from central Canada wildfire moved into northwest Minnesota early Friday morning.
A second round of smoke will be more widespread as it moves southeast. The entire state may be impacted by Saturday afternoon.
Air quality will begin to improve across western Minnesota Sunday morning as cleaner air moves in from the west. By Sunday night, the smoke should be gone for most of the state.
