Minnesota Observes Farmers’ Market Week Aug. 2–8

Minnesota will observe Farmers’ Market Week from Sunday, Aug. 2, through Saturday, Aug. 8. Governor Tim Walz has issued a proclamation recognizing the state’s more than 400 farmers’ markets and more than 10,000 vendors.  The Minnesota Department of Agriculture and several agricultural organizations will mark the week with events at nine farmers’ markets across the state, including the New Ulm Farmers’ Market. Klossner roundabout to open Friday

KLOSSNER — The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) reports the State Highway 15 roundabout at Klossner is expected to open by 5 p.m., Friday, July 31. Traffic has been detoured since May 18 while crews built the single-lane roundabout to improve safety. The project includes lighting and drainage improvements. Roundabouts reduce fatal crashes by up to 90% and injury crashes by about 75%. Other project benefits include improved traffic flow, lighting and drainage.
