Minnesota DFL Listening Session in New Ulm on June 24

The Minnesota DFL will hold a listening session for area DFLers from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 24 at the New Ulm Community Center, 600 N. German St. New DFL Chair, Richard Carlbom, has been holding several listening session events around the state since getting elected on March 29. All DFLers from the surrounding area are welcome to come and briefly hear from the new chair and then share suggestions and ideas with him and other party leaders. Redeemer votes to sponsor refugee family

A Vietnamese refugee family will apparently be sponsored in New Ulm by Redeemer Lutheran Church. The church’s congregation has decided to sponsor a family if housing can be found, the Rev. Al Lueman, pastor of the church, said Thursday. “Our people, I think, here at Redeemer feel that this a great opportunity to help human beings as well as expressing the Christian faith,” Pastor Lueman said.
