Free chronic pain workshop
Active Aging Programs, Catholic Charities of Southern MN is offering a free workshop on living with chronic pain.
The workshop will be held at the New Ulm Senior Center meeting for six consecutive Wednesdays, 1-3 pm beginning, Wednesday, April 15.
The small-group workshop is designed for adults who want to take charge of their ongoing health problems. These sessions use participation and mutual support to help manage conditions at a higher level, allowing individuals to remain active.
During the 6-week program participants will:
·Learn how decision making and problem-solving skills can help you adjust and adapt
·Understand why nutrition and physical activity effect overall pain management
·Practice skills like communication and distraction techniques
·Experience breathing & stretching exercises
·Learn ways to deal with difficult emotions
