NEW ULM – The New Ulm Area Foundation (NUAF) awarded a $2,000 grant to ProMusica MN for their chamber music series.
ProMusica’s Artistic Director Bethel Balge said the grant will support the Chamber Music series by helping bring in outside performers and cover other fees. Balge said ProMusica typically hosts three musical performances locally at the Chapel of the Christ at Martin Luther College.
NUAF executive director John Illikman said the grant for ProMusica fell under the organization’s pillar for supporting the arts.
“We wanted to fund ProMusica because chamber music is unique to New Ulm,” he said.
ProMusica’s next performance will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 29 at the MLC chapel. The performance is called “American Mosaic” and will feature music from American composers.
Badge said a highlight of the performance will include a performance of John Phillip Sousa’s “Starts & Stripes Forever” on two Steinway pianos.
