Trade Fair and Living History Event returns this weekend

NEW ULM — The 45th Annual New Ulm Trade Fair & Living History Event returns to the Royal Oak Event Center this weekend, bringing together traders, re-enactors, and history enthusiasts from across the region.

The fair highlights the 1750-1850 fur‒trade era with more than 100 tables of authentic goods, including furs, beads, knives, tools, clothing, and handcrafted items. Visitors can also expect demonstrations, period dress, and a strong showing of black‒powder and frontier‒era gear.

The event runs Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, March 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Royal Oak Event Center, 301 20th St. S.

Organizers say the fair continues to draw families, collectors, and longtime participants who have helped sustain the event for more than four decades.

Admission for 2026 is $7 for general entry on Saturday. A collector’s medallion, which covers both days of the event, is available for $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Children under 5 are admitted free.

Starting at $4.50/week.
