Park and Rec

•Winter/Spring registration is open and the activity guide is available online. Individuals may register online or in person at the Rec Center.

•Friday Night Lights Skate is held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 9 and 3:30-5:15 p.m. Jan. 23 Program open to anyone age 10 and older or under 10 (required) accompanied by an adult. Children 4 and under are free with paid adult and 5 and up are $7. Rental skates are available for $3.

•Open Broomball is offered the first and third Wednesday of each month. Everyone is welcome to join. Admission is $5, punch card or membership applies. Limited equipment available. Winter sessions are: 8:45-9:45 p.m. Jan. 7 p.m., 8-9 p.m., Jan. 21; 7:30-8:30 p.m. February 4 and 7:30-8:30 p.m. February 18

•Saturday, Jan. 10 is New Ulm Hockey Day. No open skate will be held, but the public is invited to the Civic Center for a full day of hockey along with special events and concessions hosted by the New Ulm Sleepy Eye Association. There will also be alumni games held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9.

•An open house for the Park and Rec Master Plan will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. Monday Jan. 12 at the Rec Center. The public is encouraged to attend to provide further feedback and recommendations that will have a lasting impact on the parks and recreation system. A copy of the 50 percent draft is available to view online at newulmmn.gov

•Outdoor Rinks and Warming House at Harman open daily from 12-8 p.m. Warming house will close if high temps affect the ice conditions.

• Tot time in the gym is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday and Fridays. Tot Swim is 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays in the shallow only part of the pool. The cost is $3 per tot and includes use of the indoor playground.

•Facility Reservations are available in person at the Rec Center and shelter reservations are available online.

•Rec Center Hours: Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Open Swim is offered Wednesdays 4-6:30 p.m., Fridays 4-8 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 12:00-4:00 p.m. Membership, punch card or daily admission applies. Lap swim schedule can be found online.
