SE Holiday Lights in Motion postpones special needs night

SLEEPY EYE — Due to the frigid temperatures predicted for Wednesday, Dec. 3 Sleepy Eye Holiday Lights in Motion is postponing the special needs night until Dec. 10.

The Sleepy Eye Holiday Lights in Motion committee invites individuals with special needs and their family members to participate in a special tractor/wagon ride night. This special evening is designed for individuals with any type of special needs including mobility (handicap/wheelchairs/walkers), any who has difficulty walking, senior citizens, individuals with social anxiety or any other special need.

The event will take place 5 pm to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Sportsman’s Park (1000 3rd Ave NW).

The rides will last approximately 15 minutes. Popcorn and Hot Chocolate/Apple Cider will be served to the wagon riders. Blankets are available on the wagons.

Each wagon ride offers space for15-20 walk-on riders and six wheelchairs per load. In addition Sleepy Eye Holiday Lights will provide extra staffing from Sleepy Eye Ambulance Crew Members who have experience working with special mobility needs individuals.
