NEW ULM — The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce recently visited The Backerei and Coffee Shop to celebrate its grand re-opening following a beautiful remodel.

Owners Amanda and Bill Hacker purchased the German bakery in 2019. The remodel includes new seating, an updated bathroom, and a modernized coffee bar featuring cold brew from Beans Coffee in Mankato, frappes, smoothies, lotus drinks, and espresso coming soon.

Known for being “more than just donuts,” The Backerei now offers breakfast sandwiches, grab-and-go lunch options, desserts, and Bridgeman’s ice cream.
