Cathedral Homecoming week opens with pep fest, coronation

Cathedral High School seniors Logan Klawitter and Evie Mages were crowned 2025 Homecoming King and Queen during a coronation ceremony held Sunday, Sept. 14 in the CHS gym. Klawitter is the son of Reese and Tamara Klawitter; Mages is the daughter of Matt and Sarah Mages.

NEW ULM — Cathedral High School launched its 2025 Homecoming Week with a pep fest and coronation held Sunday in the school gym.

Seniors Logan Klawitter, son of Reese and Tamara Klawitter, and Evie Mages, daughter of Matt and Sarah Mages, were crowned Homecoming King and Queen. The coronation followed a student-led pep fest featuring music, introductions of the court and school spirit activities.

This year’s Homecoming Court includes Shay Wilfahrt, Abbey Hillesheim, Alaina Blomberg, Henry Forst, Ike Kirschstein and Anton Pyan.

Festivities continue Thursday, Sept. 18 with the Cathedral Homecoming Parade at 1 p.m., followed by a volleyball match against Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s at St. Mary’s.

On Friday, Sept. 19, a Hy-Vee cookout will be held at Johnson Park. Cathedral will host Wabasso in the Homecoming football game at 7 p.m. at CHS Field; doors open at 6. Halftime will feature the 2025 Hall of Fame honorees, Homecoming Court and members of the 2010 state championship football team.

The week concludes with the Homecoming Dance 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.
