Park and Rec

• Hermann Run makes its return this fall on Saturday, September 6, and will feature a chip timed 5k Run/Walk, a one-mile fun run and a youth obstacle course run. All events will start and end at Harman Park. Registration is open and event details can be found online.

•Fall program registration is open. Registration available online and at the Rec Center for programs including youth flag football, youth volleyball, swim lessons and more.

•Civic Center Garage Sale will be held Saturday, September 27, 8: a.m. – Noon. Registration opens Monday, August 11 at 7:30 a.m. at the Civic Center. Must register in person. Registration will move to the Rec Center at 9 a.m. and continue during open hours until full.

• New Software is live and all current members should have received a login to go into their account and enter their credit card info.  This is necessary for everyone paying monthly. Anyone who has not done this by August 12, stop by the Rec Center and enter the information directly into an account in person.

•Facility Reservations are available in person at the Rec Center or by logging into an account and storing credit card information, then calling to reserve. Park and Rec does not take reservations without payment.  Online reservations will be available soon.

• Annual Pool Shutdown will be Monday August 25 through September 1.  There will be no open lap or open swim and no swim lessons during this time.

• Community Recreation Day Save the date for our Community Recreation Day at the Rec Center Saturday, September 13. This day will feature free activities at the Rec Center, including open swim, and the opportunity to visit community groups for information on a variety of recreation opportunities in New Ulm.

• Concert in the Park on Thursdays at German Park weekly through August. Rec on the Go 6–7 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m. August 21 Blue Dirt Road returns and the series will end August 28 with Chris & Chris

• If you haven’t completed our Park & Rec Master Plan Survey- Please consider doing so.  We want to hear about wants, needs and ideas for an engaging parks and recreation system that serves and guides our future. Scan QR code that has been placed around city parks or visit the website to be directed to the survey.

• Open Skating and hockey schedules can be found Park and Rec website and link to new software.

• Rec Center Open Swim Hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1 – 6 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Membership, punch card or daily admission applies. Lap swim schedule can be found online.

• Wading Pools at Lincoln and Washington Parks are open daily 12:30-6 p.m. through August 17. Temp must be at least 72 and children must be accompanied by an 18-year old. There are no lifeguards on duty.

• North Park Splash Pad is open daily 10 a.m.-8 p.m. through Labor Day.

• Hermann Monument is open for the summer. $3 per person to climb the monument. Open Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. -5 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
