NEW ULM — Allina Health Foundation benefiting New Ulm Medical Center recently awarded 47 scholarships to area college students pursuing a degree in nursing or a healthcare related field, with a total of $235,000 in funding, the largest yet for these scholarships
“This large amount of giving has such a significant impact for investment in healthcare education, and it is so rare for a community our size.”, NUMC Director of Operations Carisa Buegler said.
The goal of the scholarship is to expand the health care workforce in Brown County and New Ulm area, and hopefully the student remains in the community after graduation, regardless of where they choose to work.
Scholarship donors who make this possible are Charlotte West Anderson, Dr. Marc & Lori Burkhart, Carol Ryberg, and Kay Witt.
