Historic Kiesling House presents ‘River Life – Now & Then’

NEW ULM — The Brown County Historical Society invites the public to Historic Kiesling House for a special program, “River Life: Now & Then,” on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 12 pm to 3 pm.

Featured presenters Chad and Lori Wengert will showcase wildlife encountered during their explorations of local rivers in the New Ulm area. Learn about animals such as bison, foxes, raccoons, and skunks through engaging stories, mounted specimens, and artifacts. This drop-in event allows visitors to come and go at their convenience.

The program complements regular Kiesling House offerings, including exhibits and a video presentation. Built in 1861, the Kiesling House has withstood the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862, tornadoes, grasshopper plagues, blackbirds, and ongoing city development–offering a fascinating window into the region’s past. Admission is $3 per person, free for BCHS members and children ages 4 and under.

Starting at $4.50/week.
