State Street Theater receives NUAF grant for youth theater camps

NEW ULM – State Street Theater Company received a $2,500 grant award from New Ulm Area Foundation (NUAF). John Illikman, executive director of NUAF said this donation was specifically for States Street Theater’s summer theater camp program that reaches out to youth on the autism spectrum as well as youth whose second language is English. Illikman said the NUAF board were interested in the program and believed is served a need in the community.

State Street Theater executive director Lorie Jewell said the last summer camp performance is scheduled for 5 p.m. Thursday, July 30 at the theater. The show will be written by and performed by camp participants age 7-13. The show is free to the public.
