Park & Rec
• Hermann Run returns this fall on Saturday, Sept. 6, and will feature a chip timed 5k Run/Walk, a one-mile Fun Run and a Youth Obstacle Course Run. All events will start and end at Harman Park. Registration is open and event details can be found online
• Introduction to Wild Spaces in the City of New Ulm The City of New Ulm Park & Rec Department invites Minnesota Master Naturalists and those interested in becoming Master Naturalists to tour New Ulm’s Wild Spaces. Master Naturalists Joe Gartner, Julie Gartner, and Elliot De St. Croix serve as tour guides.
The program is Saturday, August 2. The tour starts at 10 am from the Park & Rec Center at 122 S Garden St and concludes at noon. Preregistration is required by Monday, July 28. One of the goals of this program is to meet Master Naturalists that are interested in the New Ulm Area. The long-term goal is to form a New Ulm Chapter of the Master Naturalists.
• Software changes are coming for Park & Recreation. From July 21- August 4, Park & Rec will not be accepting facility reservations as part of the software changes.
• Rec on the Go runs from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Monday – Thursday. Monday at Lincoln Park, Tuesday at Highland Park, Wednesday at Riverside Park and Thursdays at North Park. Rec on the Go will also be at Washington Wading pool 12:30-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 with special activities. Rec on the Go is free and open to any age and made possible through partnership with the New Ulm Community Ed.
• Puppet Wagon is running weekly: Tuesdays Harman Park at 9:30 a.m., Highland Park 10:15 a.m., Lincoln Park 11 a.m., Thursdays Washington Park 9:30 a.m., North Park 10:15 a.m., Hermann Heights Park 11 a.m., and at Concert in the Park at German Park at 6:15 p.m.
• Concert in the Park on Thursdays at German Park weekly through August. July 24 is the Mages Family Band. Rec on the Go 6-7 p.m. and Puppet Wagon show at 6:15 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from Illegal Amigos as well. July 31 is New Ulm Night Out with a variety of activities, food and music 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

• Rec Center Open Swim Hours: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1 – 6 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Membership, punch card or daily admission applies. Lap swim schedule can be found online
• Wading Pools at Lincoln and Washington Parks are open daily 12:30-6 p.m. Temp must be at least 72 and children must be accompanied by an 18-year old. There are no lifeguards on duty.
• North Park Splash Pad is open daily 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. for the summer
• Hermann Monument is open for the summer. Cost is $3 per person to climb the monument. Open Monday-Thursday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m.-7: p.m.
