NEW ULM – The Brown County Historical Society invites the public to kick off the 2025 Lunch and a Bite of History season on Thursday, May 15, with a special presentation by Rick Pepper titled Remembering the Rapidan Dam.

The program will take place from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brown County Museum Annex.

This presentation features photos and videos from Pepper’s book, Remembering the Rapidan Dam & Dam Store, which documents the destruction of the Rapidan Dam site. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event. In addition, Pepper will provide updates on the County Road 9 bridge and its ongoing demolition work since October 2024.
