Bike Group applying for Bike Friendly designation

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Bike Group recently reapplied for the Bicycle Friendly Communities Bronze level designation for another four years. The League of American Bicyclists has recently instituted a public information survey as part of the designation process. They would like people that bike in the community to complete the survey and share their experiences with biking in New Ulm.

Please consider completing the survey and also please forward it to anyone you know that bikes in town. The survey closes on March 31.

Legion Fish Fry March 12

NEW ULM — The American Legion Seifert-Bianchi Post 132 in New Ulm will hold its 26th annual Fish Fry on Friday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (or until gone. Curbside pickup only at 13 So. Minn. St. New Ulm

The cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 10 and under.

German-Bohemian Society virtual open house Saturday

NEW ULM – The German-Bohemian Heritage Society will hold a virtual open house from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Join in for a fun conversation and “gemuetlichkeit.”

Wade Olsen, GBHS president, will shared what the society has been up to during COVID-19. See what GBHS has to offer genealogical researchers and learn what it means to have German ancestors from somewhere other than Germany.

The slide show will feature snapshots of Bohemian history as part of the Austrian empire and its relationship with Germany today.
