NEW ULM — Lion Club member Bob Schirlinger received the Lion Club Multiple District (MD) 5M Hall of Fame Award on Aug. 1 at the District 5M3 Cabinet Meeting in Sherburn MN.

Lions Clubs in the district are able to nominate one qualified Lion annually. This award is to honor those Lion members of character and substance who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment and dedication to the efforts of their club, district or multiple districts and the motto of Lions International, “WE SERVE”.

These nominees are then voted on at the District Convention which was held in February of this year in Marshall, MN. Only one winner from the District is selected for this award. The winner is then presented the Hall of Fame Award at the MD5M Convention which was not held this year due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The Lions Club of New Ulm nominated Lion Bob due to his 20 years of activity in the New Ulm club and District 5M3. He is very active in his club being president twice (19 years as a board member), serving 6 years as a trustee for the MN Lions Diabetes Foundation, WebMaster for his club’s and the district’s website, an active fundraiser and membership recruiter, and much more.
