Shop with your Gnomies

NEW ULM — Kick off the holiday shopping season with an event featuring local artisans at the 35th Annual Gnomemade Market held on Nov. 7-10. This year the market is located in 16 historic venues and artisan homes.

Market hours are: Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 8 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Gnomemade Market is a showcase of high-quality items that bring patrons back year after year. Plan your shopping trip and visit with our artisans.

Some locations have abbreviated open hours. Please refer to the market map for individual location times. Map is available at gnomemademarket.com.

KNUJ Farm City Day

NEW ULM — KNUJ AM-FM is holding its 13th Annual Farm City Day Celebration on Friday, Nov. 8., from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Youth Coliseum at the Brown County Fairgrounds, New Ulm.

KNUJ will be serving a free breakfast, live music & entertainment, guest speakers, fellowship, live radio broadcasts, and door prizes as it celebrates National Farm City Week.

Over 500+ people are expected attend. The event is co-sponsored by the Farm City Hub Club of New Ulm, Minnesota Farmers Union, Brown County Pork Producers, and the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce.

Please bring non-perishable food item(s) for the New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf.

Prairie Piecemakers meet Nov. 14

NEW ULM — Prairie Piecemakers quilt club will meet on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 201 North State Street.

Guest Speaker will be Ruth Green of Green Glass Designs.

Heartland Express

NEW ULM — Brown County Heartland Express will operate as normal on Monday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day. If you need a ride for that day please be sure to call the Heartland Express office before 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 to schedule a ride at 507-359-2717, or 800-707-2717.

CADA celebrates 40th year with cupcakes and beer

MANKATO – The Committee Against Domestic Abuse, Inc. (CADA) is celebrating its 40th year of service with a fundraiser celebration, Cupcakes and Beers: Cheers to 40 Years! The event will be held at Mankato Brewery on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale. Guests will enjoy four custom cupcakes prepared by Diamond Dust Bakery & Coffee Shop, Inc. paired with four authentic beers from Mankato Brewery.

“This celebration is monumental for CADA as it represents 40 years of service to this community. We hope to celebrate with our supporters, both past and present,” said Jason Mack, Executive Director at CADA. “This is a time for us to come together, acknowledge the work that has been done, and highlight our vision for the future. We know a lot is changing in our funding world and we need the community to join us and help create the vision of a violence free future.”
