Mayo in Springfield invites community to 2019 Fun Run/Walk

SPRINGFIELD — Join Mayo Clinic Health System in Springfield for its Fun Run/Walk during Springfield Riverside Days Saturday, June 29, in the Springfield Area Community Center parking lot. Participants will receive a shirt while supplies last.

The Fun Run/Walk begins at 8 a.m., and same-day registrations open at 7 a.m. Pre-registration is encouraged as shirt supplies are limited. Registration forms are available in the Mayo Clinic Health System in Springfield clinic lobby. Visit mayoclinichealthsystem.org for more information.

Summer open house at Cow Collectors Mooseum on Saturday, June 22

BERNADOTTE — The Cow Collector’s Mooseum will hold its 20th annual Open House on Saturday, June 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Mooseum is located in Ruth Klossner’s home in Bernadotte. The public is invited. There is no admission charge. Milk and cookies will be served.

This year’s event is scheduled to coincide with Bernadotte Lutheran Church’s annual Swedefest celebration — right across the road — which begins at 4 p.m. that day.

The Mooseum is home to more than 18,600 cow items, the Guinness World Record collection of cow-related items. All types of cow items are on display–creamers, sugars, salt and peppers, cookie jars, figurines, woodcarvings, wall hangings, toys, games, clothes, books, candles, Christmas ornaments, and much, much more.

The Mooseum is located at 34085 515th Avenue, rural Lafayette, in the village of Bernadotte. From Lafayette, go four-and-a-half miles east on Nicollet County #1 (350th Street), then one mile north on Nicollet County 10 (515th Avenue).

25th anual Swedefest to be held Saturday, June 22 in Bernadotte

BERNADOTTE — The 25th annual Swedefest Family Fun Festival will be held Saturday, June 22 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bernadotte Lutheran Church Park.

Food will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu includes windsor chops, cheesy potatoes, creamy rice, beans, herring, pickles, buns, bars, coffee and milk. The price is $12 for adults, $6 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Refreshments also include, ice cream cones, sundaes, floats and beverages.

Entertainment will be provided by Danielle and Ross Deopere from Cambria. There will horse-drawn wagon rides, kids’ activities and a silent auction that closes at 7:30 p.m. A brief closing devotions will conclude the evening.

Bernadotte WELCA Pie and Ice Cream Social being held June 5 at Bernadotte Lutheran

BERNADOTTE — The Bernadotte Lutheran’s Annual WELCA Pie and Ice Cream Social will be held Wednesday, June 5 from 5:30 p.m to 8 p.m. at the Bernadotte Lutheran Church. The pie social menu includes BBQ sandwiches, hot turkey sandwiches, pie, cake and ice cream. Coffee lemonade and milk will aslo be available. Music will be provided by the Lafayette City Band and the Bernadotte Ladies will be holding a bake sale. Bernadotte Luteran Church park is located at 34122 515th Ave on County Rd 10. the event will be moved indoors in the case of bad weather.
