Hanska Library set to celebrate its 35th anniversary

HANSKA — The Hanska Community Library Board of Directors will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Library on June 29 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Hanska Community Center, Upper Level, 201 Broadway Hanska.

After 5 Attire is required. Social Hour at 5:30 p.m. Cash Bar provided by Hanska Municipal Liquor. A two-meat dinners catered by Green Mill wil be served at 6:30 p.m., followed, by recognition program honoring the founders, directors, board members and contributors to follow.

Tickets are $35 per person. Seating is limited RSVP by June 19 to the Hanska Community Library: 507-439-7323 or 507-276-9853, or to the City Administration office: 507-439-6246.

Dairy Day celebration at Harkin Store this Sunday

WEST NEWTON — The Harkin Store will be honoring the dairy industry this Sunday by serving dairy products for sampling.

The 1870’s Alexander Harkin general store would have had different cheeses for customers to sample. Admission to the program is included with the admission to the store.

The store is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 to 4 pm with programs on Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 pm. The gift shop is open the same hours as the store and has many toys, books, unique and hand crafted items, also 10 cent candy.

The store is located nine miles northwest of New Ulm on Nicollet County Road 21, or the bottom road, or nine miles east of Fort Ridgley, which is under construction so follow the detour signs or call the store when open for directions at 1-507-354-8666 or call the Nicollet County which operates the store for more information at 1-507-934-2160.

New Ulm Lions Club announces Spring Raffle Winners

NEW ULM — The Lions Club of New Ulm held the drawing for its “Spring Raffle” on the air at KNUJ radio studios on May 23.

The First Prize of $500 was won by Paul Maday. A $100 prize was won by each of the following: Merle Bohlin, Bob Webb, Mary Ann Thorn, Laine Sletta and Joanne Brennan.

The Lions Club of New Ulm would like to thank all the individuals and businesses who purchased tickets for this important fund raiser. Without your support, the Lions could not continue to help people with Sight, Hearing and Diabetes impairments and other people in need.
