MLC Children’s Theatre presents: ‘The Cat in the Hat’

NEW ULM — MLC Children’s Theatre presents Dr. Seuss’s ‘The Cat In The Hat’ at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in the MLC Auditorium.

What usually happens in your home when your mom is out and the kids are left behind? Does your fish talk? Does a large cat, wearing a red and white hat, walk through the door? Follow Sally and her brother as they go on the craziest and most exciting adventures with none other than the tricky and mischievous Cat in the Hat when their mom is away. These adventures may be fun while they last, but what will happen when Mom comes back home? Find out in Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat.

Tickets are $2 and will be sold at the door only.

Girl Scout Spaghetti Dinner

NEW ULM — New Ulm Area Girl Scouts will hold a Spaghetti Dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1400 South State

Cost is $9 for adults ($10 at the door) and $5 for children 10 and under (only available at the door). Take out is available.

This is a fund raiser to support local Girl Scout activities.

Tonic Sol-fa to Perform at State Street Theater

NEW ULM — Tonic Sol-fa, a Minnesota acappella ensemble, will perform at at 7 p.m. Friday, Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m., at the State Street Theater, 1 North State St. in New Ulm.

Tonic Sol-fa began at St. John’s University in Central Minnesota and includes lead vocalist Shaun Johnson, tenor and vocal percussionist, Greg Bannwarth, baritone and percussionist/vocal percussionist, Theo Brown, and bass, Jared Dove. Together the group reached national prominence with appearances on NBC’s Today Show and in Newsweek magazine.

Tickets are $20 pre-sale and $25 at the door and can be purchased at the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, Hy-Vee, and online at statestreetNEWULM.org. For further information, please contact the theater at statestreettheater@gmail.com or 507-359-9990.
