Free dental care for kids

MANKATO — Minnesota State University, Mankato’s Dental Hygiene Department, within the College of Allied Health & Nursing, to provide free dental care to area children on Thursday, April 18, for children ages 5-17

Services provided include cleanings, fluoride, x-ray and exams

The dental clinic is located on the campus of Minnesota State University in the Clinical Sciences Building. People interested in scheduling an appointment may call the dental clinic at 507-389-2147

Patients seeking appointments for cleanings, fluoride, x-rays and exams should be under the age of 17 and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Appointment times are between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

oon Tunes at library

NEW ULM — Dick Kimmel and Kelly Coyle will be the featured musicians at Noon Tunes on Wednesday, April 10 at 12 p.m. at New Ulm Public Library. Kimmel and Coyle play bluegrass music on guitar, mandolin, mountain dulcimer, and banjo. Call 507-359-8331 for more information.

Veterans Service Office Closure

NEW ULM — The Brown County Veterans Service Office will be closed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (April 9-11) while the Service Officers attend annual certification training in Mankato. They will respond to daily telephone messages.

Sleepy Eye Community Theater sets auditions, April 14th

SLEEPY EYE — Auditions for Sleepy Eye Community Theater’s production of Face the Music: Celebrated Songs of Stage and Screen will be held Sunday, April 14 from 3-6 p.m. in the choir room at Sleepy Eye High School.

The production aims to showcase not only outstanding area stage and musical talent, but also a wide range of songs that speak to all ages. Curtains will open July 11, 12 and 14.

The directors are looking for people who like to sing, dance, perform, or all of the above. There are parts for everyone from school-aged children to teenagers and for adults of all ages. They are seeking equal numbers of men and women. People are encouraged to audition regardless of stage experience.

Rehearsals will begin the first week of June and will go from approximately 5:30-9:30 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays. Cast members will not be required to attend rehearsal every night. There are opportunities for solos, duets, small ensembles, and large ensembles. .
